
Ms. Murtha focuses her practice on all types of private investment vehicles and investment managers, as well as derivatives and structured products that are linked to the performance of private investment vehicles.
Ms. Murtha structures and forms both U.S. and non-U.S. hedge funds, fund-of-funds, hybrid funds, commodity pools and other types of private investment vehicles. She also structures and forms investment advisers and provides ongoing regulatory, securities, commodities and general corporate advice to investment advisers and CTAs.
In addition, Ms. Murtha structures and documents derivatives and structured products such as hedge fund linked notes. She has represented both buyers and sellers of such products, structuring each transaction to fit the particular business needs of the client.
Ms. Murtha was previously a partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP and prior to that she practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Seward & Kissel LLP.
Ms. Murtha earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Fordham Law School, where she was on the Law Review.
